The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) invites youth ages 6 to 16 to participate in a Youth Dove Hunt and Cookout on September 5, 2026, at the Joachim Bible Refuge in Mohawk. The event will begin 30 minutes before sunrise (6:36 AM) and continue until sunset (7:53 PM). Each participating youth must be accompanied by an adult age 21 or older, who may also hunt. Youth ages 13 and older, as well as participating adults, are required to have appropriate hunting licenses and permits. As the hunt takes place on a waterfowl refuge, only nontoxic shot is permitted.
The gate will open at daylight. Youth hunters will receive a t-shirt and one box of steel shot (12- or 20-gauge). Lunch and snacks will be provided for all participants and accompanying adults.
