A Greene County woman died in a single vehicle wreck around 2:30 Tuesday afternoon in Greene County.
The fatal victim was identified as 71-year-old Devinda Winter of the St. James community.
According to the accident report issued this morning, Winter was operating a 2021 Nissan Kicks.
The vehicle the THP report indicates, was traveling southbound on the Newport Highway. The vehicle’s right side exited the right side of the roadway then reentered the roadway crossing all lanes of traffic and exiting the left side of the roadway. Her Nissan then went over an embankment and struck the other side before beginning to roll. While rolling, the vehicle went across a fence and rolled again. Winter was ejected from the vehicle, and her body was located by emergency personnel about forty feet from where the vehicle came to rest.
Winter died at the scene and was apparently the lone occupant of the vehicle. No other vehicles were involved.
