The Greeneville City Council held its first meeting since the August election on Tuesday, welcoming Angelo Botta and Flint Carter, and saluting Ginny Kidwell for her time on the Board of Mayor and Aldermen/City Council.
ANGELO BOTTA
Angelo Botta was sworn in by State Representative David Hawk.
Botta is a long-time educator and coach who currently serves as associate professor at Tusculum University.
FLINT CARTER
Flint Carter was administered his oath of office by Mayor Cal Doty.
Carter is a local businessman and co-owner of Double D Tire with his brother Tommy.
GINNY KIDWELL
Ginny Kidwell served on the board for a total of 14 years, from 1999-2009 and from 2022-2026.
Kidwell is presented a plaque by Mayor Cal Doty recognizing her time serving the town of Greeneville.
She was also presented a plaque by EMS Director TJ Manis for her time serving on that board.
Before leaving the meeting Kidwell said “I just want to say thank you, first and foremost, to the citizens of this town, to the town employees, and to all of these friendly, sweet faces that sit here and endure this process, and are vested in our community. I have a special feeling for the council members. But it’s been a pleasure. We’ve had some rough times, but, by and large, I think everybody has the best interest of this town in mind.”
