Two of four suspects have been indicted on attempted first degree murder charges as well as other charges related to a home invasion and shooting at an Old Stage Road home last year.
Following Grand Jury presentments last week, aggravated assault warrants were issued Saturday morning at the Greene County Detention Center to 21 year old Stephen Chastin Turner of Old Midway Road and 30 year old Tevondre “TJ” Connor of Carver Road Knoxville. Both were already being held on $225,000 bond. They were also indicted last week on charges of attempted first degree murder, two counts of especially aggravated robbery, as well as aggravated robbery and aggravated burglary.
The incident occurred at a residence in the 7000 block of Old Stage Road around 3:40 am on Friday, October 11th. Greene County 9-1-1 dispatched the Sheriff’s Department to a burglary in progress. The caller stated that someone had entered his home and that he had gone to a neighbor’s house to call for help because his girlfriend was still inside.
About 10 minutes later, a female called 9-1-1 from the residence saying she had been shot twice. Deputies arrived on the scene to find a 24-year-old female with gunshot wounds to her hand and back. The victim was flown to Johnson City Medical Center. She has recovered from her injuries.
Two others arrested, 24-year-old Makaila Chapman-Delotto of Widow Hollow Road and 39-year-old William Justin Smith of Green Ridge Road, Afton each face charges of attempted first degree murder, especially aggravated burglary, especially aggravated robbery, aggravated robbery and theft under $1,000. Arrest warrants indicate the vehicle owned by Delotto was used to get to the residence, then she stayed inside the truck to act as lookout.
A play station, backpack and $200 cash were reported taken during the robbery.
