The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for the mountains and foothills of east Tennessee to go into effect today.
The Wind Advisory will begin at 5:00 PM this afternoon, and go until 9:00 AM Sunday morning.
South winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph expected. Gusts up to 55 mph are likely on higher peaks and areas prone to mountain wave winds.
Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle.
