- Update – According to the Greeneville Police Department, the two individuals involved in the incident have been identified and located. The department states they cannot provide any information about the hit-and-run at this time as it is still an ongoing investigation.
A Hit and Run was reported Monday before noon at the McDonalds parking lot on 521 Tusculum Boulevard and Austin Street.
Officers responded to the crash after a pedestrian, 87 year-old Mary S. Brakebill, was hit by an older model Ford. The suspected vehicle was seen on video surveillance, which showed the victim walking behind the vehicle. The driver backed up after Brakebill was approximately halfway behind the car.
According to the report, she tried to move out of the way but the suspect continued reversing and struck Brakebill. She fell to the ground on her side and sustained scrapes on her elbow and knee. She was attended to by EMS but refused to be transported to the hospital.
The driver left the scene but was seen on camera inside McDonalds with an unknown individual. Photos were provided from the business.
