Police responded to a call on Locust Street Friday night around 10:30.
Officers spoke with a man who stated a male ran to his house, yelling that a man had overdosed in the woods. Officers located Craig Gobble, of Irish Street exiting the woods, who said a man had overdosed but he did not know where.
Officers checked the woods without finding anyone.
According to the report, during the encounter, Gobble was profusely sweating, was very erratic with his movements, and could not maintain one story. It was believed that he was a danger to himself and others and was placed into custody.
A search reportedly found a burnt glass pipe in Gobble’s jeans pocket. He was charged with Public Intoxication and possession of drug paraphernalia.
