Food Country is closing its location in Mosheim.
Food Country USA based in Abingdon, Virginia, has nine locations, seven in Virginia, two others in Tennessee, Mosheim and Mountain City.
A call and email to the home office have gone unanswered and no official news release has been issued.
Another as yet unnamed grocery chain is expected to take its place in the Mosheim Plaza shopping center on West Andrew Johnson Highway near the Emerald Road intersection.
An employee of the Subway at that location told Radio Greeneville News Wednesday they will be staying open. The restaurant, while accessible from inside the store, also has an entrance from the sidewalk.
