Greeneville High School was recently ranked as being one of the best public high schools in Tennessee.
They ranked 18th in the state out of 305 high schools that made the list. Schools are ranked on their performance on state-required tests, graduation, and on how well they prepare their students for college. GHS was recognized by US News and World Report and were among the top 10% of high schools in the nation.
GHS was also ranked 9th for a Traditional High School. The Director of Greeneville City Schools Steve Starnes congratulated GHS students and educators for the accomplishment during the school board meeting on Thursday evening.
According to U.S. News, the 2024 Best High School ranking is given because of students who have demonstrated outstanding outcomes above expectations in math, reading and science state assessments, earned qualifying scores on an array of college-level exams, and graduated in high proportions.
