Two were transported to the hospital after a vehicle crash Thursday afternoon near the Rufe Taylor Road intersection.
The accident occurred around 12:30 PM when a vehicle drove off the road into the median and rolled onto its top. According to the report, the driver, Vincent A. Malloy, was able to crawl out of the vehicle. The passenger, Marian L. Bridges, was entrapped inside but was helped by medical personnel without being extracted. Both sustained injuries and were transported by EMS to Johnson City Medical Center.
Malloy told officers he was trying to avoid another vehicle who was weaving through traffic, causing him to run into the median to avoid a crash. Witnesses stated they saw the accident and allegedly there was no other vehicle that caused him to run into the median.
Greene County EMS, the Greeneville Fire Department, Greeneville Police Department, and Tennessee Highway Patrol all responded to the wreck.
