The Greeneville City Board of Education met yesterday afternoon and approved for the Greeneville High School Graduation Ceremony to be on the recommended date of Saturday May 25, 2024 at 10 AM.
The ceremonies original date was a conflict with the 2024 Spring Fling, which is scheduled for May 24. May 25th was the date recommended by a team that included teachers, coaches, extra-curricular sponsors, and administration. According to Principal Deanna Martin, all decided unanimously that it was the best day to choose.
The board gave recognition to several students for the first half of the meeting including Tusculum College Math Winners, Character Education Students, Greeneville High School students who scored 30 or higher on the ACT, and Microsoft Academy Scholars. The room was packed with students, teachers, and many proud parents. It was also announced that it would be the last meeting for Student Board Representative, Asher Rogers.
