The Greeneville Municipal Planning Commission met yesterday morning and granted preliminary and final approval to several subdivisions, including a property known as the Jimmy Hill and Kenny Hartman property, on old Shiloh Road.
According to Planning Director Randy Davenport, the subdivision has been sitting for a while and will create five parcels of land. It is only allowed for the construction of residential units.
The Frank F. Manuel Property on 702 North Main Street across from Becky’s Sandwich House, was approved. Two parcels of land will be created and it currently meets zoning and subdivision requirements of the planning commission, but was approved subject to a conceptual plan from the property owner.
According to Davenport and Building Inspector Bert Seay, there have been no plans presented in 3 to 4 years since the property was subdivided. There should be a long-term plan provided in the future and a motion was made for the conceptual plan with no further subdivisions.
Also approved was the combination and subdivision of a parcel of land on 535 East Andrew Johnson Highway. The vacant property according to Davenport, has a potential for business use. Discussions will need to be had regarding traffic it would cause and a there will be a conversation with the Tennessee Department of transportation.
