A Telford man was arrested on Monday following a wreck on Old Snapps Ferry Road near Old Ducktown Road.
The wreck occurred shortly after 6:00 PM when Tyler Odom of Barkley Road was traveling inbound on Old Snapps Ferry Road and swerved due to a cow in the road. Odom’s Ford F250 ran off the right side of the road, went through a fence, traveled through a field, and hit a creek bank.
Odom had an odor of alcohol on his person. He reportedly told deputies that he had drank 12 beers, but waited three hours from his last drink until he drove the truck.
Odom said he hit his head in the wreck because his seatbelt failed to lock up. A field sobriety test was not performed due to a possible head injury. Odom was transported to the hospital, evaluated and released. He was then transported to the Greene County Detention Center and charged with DUI.
