The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has updated its DNA Cold Case Initiative.
According to a press release from yesterday, Governor Bill Lee and the General Assembly have approved $100,000 for specialized forensic genetic genealogy testing in Tennessee Cold Cases.
The TBI has not announced any specific areas or cold cases that take priority in future investigation.
The new forensic technology will reportedly be able to help identify cold cases in which skeletal remains have not been or are unable to be identified.
