MARYVILLE, Tenn. — Athletes from South Greene showcased their talent and determination at the Last Chance Meet hosted by Eagleton Academy, with notable performances from both the girls’ and boys’ track and field teams.
In a field of eleven competitive teams, the South Greene girls’ team secured a second-place finish, while the boys’ team held their own with a commendable fifth-place finish.
Among the standout performances for South Greene was the impressive victory in the Boys 4 x 800 relay, where Zackriah Duncan, Noah Case, Andrew Lacy, and Evan Ryan claimed first place.
On the field, South Greene’s Alexa Gabbard soared to victory in the Girls High Jump, securing first place for her team. Additionally, Gabbard displayed her versatility with a second-place finish in the Long Jump and a fourth-place finish in the Triple Jump.
Other notable performances from South Greene athletes include:
- Natalie Foshie’s second-place finish in Discus and a second-place finish in the Girls 4 x 400 relay.
- Nolan Weems’ impressive second-place finish in Pole Vault.
- Ava Clark’s strong showing with a third-place finish in the 100 Hurdles and a fifth-place finish in Long Jump.
- Keshawn Engram’s third-place finish in Long Jump.
- Zackriah Duncan’s third-place finish in the 400 meters, setting a new personal record in the process.
- Madison Darnell’s third-place finish in Discus and a tie for fourth place in Shot Put.
- MyeSha Lewis’ fourth-place finish in Shot Put.
- Charlie Lane’s fifth-place finish in High Jump, setting a new personal record.
- Kaylee Cutshaw’s fifth-place finish in Discus and a seventh-place finish in Shot Put.
- Emma Cutshall’s seventh-place finish in the 800 meters.

Additionally, the Girls 4 x 100 relay team consisting of Hoxie, Clark, Gabbard, and Foshie secured a third-place finish, setting a new school record in the process.
South Greene concludes the regular season and look forward to more success in the Sectional, Pentathlon, Decathlon, and possible State Appearances.
