The Greeneville City School Board of Education will meet this afternoon after a joint board meeting with Greene County Schools at the Greene Technology Center.
The meeting will begin at around 7:15 PM. The board will nominate a high school student to serve as a member of the State Board of Education. The board nominates Greeneville High School Junior student, Jack Lampe, for consideration by the Governor to serve as a student representative.
Dr. Rachel Adams will be recognized for being a Principal of the Year Regional Semi-Finalist.
Other items on the agenda include approving policy revisions (1st and 2nd reading), Fiscal Year 2024 Federal Projects, and recommendations for the TSBA School Volunteer Award. According to the agenda, the TSBA School Volunteer Award Recognition Nomination celebrates individuals who have made exceptional contributions to Tennessee school districts through their volunteer efforts.
GHS would like to nominate William “Bill” Armstrong to be considered for the award. Candidates are evaluated based on various criteria, including their demonstrated leadership skills, creativity, cooperation, and hard work in serving schools. The agenda shares some of his accomplishments/contributions and states Mr. Armstrong is highly skilled at leveraging community partnerships to organize celebratory events and show appreciation for GHS staff. Through transparent communication and active engagement, Mr. Armstrong ensures that everyone is informed and empowered to contribute to GHS’s endeavors, cultivating a culture of collective involvement and support.
The City Board meeting will follow the joint school board meeting scheduled for 6 PM, located on 1121 Hal Henard Road.
