The Renner twins, Kamryn and Kylee Renner capped off their dominant GMS Golf career at the first ever TMSAA State Golf Championship at Harpeth Hills Golf Course in Nashville. They were able to bring back the inaugural TMSAA State Championship Trophy to Greeneville Middle School for the school’s first team state championship. Their teammates Addy Ricker, Emma Smith, many other friends and family members were there to support them along the way to the championship trophy.
GMS golf coach, Jason Shelton expressed, “it has been a tremendous pleasure to coach these young ladies over the past three years. They work extremely hard each and every day throughout the entire year. Their golf skills speak for themselves but they are even better young ladies off the course. They are absolutely wonderful kids and will continue to excel in golf and throughout their lives.
Golf teaches many life lessons and they will succeed in anything they decide to do down the road.” Their swing mechanics and course management coach Sasha Catron stated, “ Kamryn and Kylee are very powerful athletes and fierce competitors with a strong work ethic that helps them tremendously in their golf game. I have worked closely with them for many years now and have seen them dramatically improve each year. The sky’s the limit for these two and I look forward to their bright future.”
Kamryn and Kylee will continue competing in tournaments in the coming months in various amateur tours across the Southeast to build their individual national ranking. The Renner twins along with their close friend and future GHS teammate, Brylee Catron host children’s golf camps during the summer. These camps help introduce young children of the community to the game of golf. They are also looking forward to joining the Greeneville High School team this fall. Congratulations to the Greeneville Middle School Girls Golf Team!
