Two people were injured around 8:20 Monday night in a wreck on West Andrew Johnson Highway near Emerald Road.
Upon the arrival of the Mosheim Police Department, a Toyota RAV4, driven by Gregory Willet, was sitting perpendicular on West Andrew Johnson Highway and a Ford transit van, driven by Manuel E. Reyes, was sitting in the middle of the median.
A witness told police the Toyota pulled out from Emerald Road and apparently did not see the Ford. The Toyota was struck in the front. Willet said he did not see the Ford because it did not have any lights on. Reyes said the vehicle’s lights were automatic and he thought they were on.
Reyes was transported to Greenville Community Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The accident report states that Willett had a suspected minor injury and left the scene with another driver.
