A Greeneville man was arrested for DUI after wrecking his vehicle early Saturday morning.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Department responded to the wreck in the 8000 block of Lonesome Pine Trail around 1:45 AM and discovered a F-150 in a field. The driver was identified as Thomas Lister of Kenney Street.
Lister reportedly refused EMS and said he had drank three shots of vodka at a bar in Virginia. He said he was headed home when he lost control of the truck and crashed through a gate and fence. The vehicle also hit a mailbox at the foot of the driveway on the property before stopping in the field.
Lister performed poorly on field sobriety tests. He was taken into custody and transported to the Greene County Detention Center for DUI 1st offense. He consented to a breathalyzer sample and blew a .248.
The property owner was notified of the damages, according to the police report.
