A traffic stop for talking on a cell phone while driving led to more trouble for one of the passengers in the car Sunday evening.
When asked for identification, Angel M. Phelps of Lake Street, Greeneville told the officer she may have a warrant. An NCIC check revealed she was indeed wanted on failure to appear. She was taken to the Greene County Detention Center without incident where she was served with the warrant.
A Sessions Court appearance is scheduled today.
A man walking between traffic on Tusculum Boulevard while drinking a beer led to public intoxication charges.
Winston Clay of the Old Asheville Highway was also charged with schedule two drug violations as hydrocodone was found on his person during booking. He also faces charges of resisting arrest as he was combative as he was placed in cuffs and while being placed in the Police Department cruiser.
