The Greene County 9-1-1 Board of Directors has approved the departments $2.6 million dollar operating budget for the 2025-2026 Fiscal Year.
Meeting today at the Annex, the board approved the budget, which will include a 3% pay increase for all employees as well as an increase in pay for supervisors from an additional .75 to $1.00 per hour. TAC officers would also increase from $1.05 to $2.00 per hour. The motion from Hoot Bowers, with a second from Teddy Lawing, also included one new dispatcher. It was approved by the board but John Waddle did not vote.
He had argued for two new dispatchers, which was the original request to the full commission. Waddle, former treasurer of the board, says he believes the 9-1-1 budget could have easily absorbed the cost of two new dispatchers based on its $2 million dollar surplus budget.
