A Chuckey man was arrested by Washington County deputies after he was found in possession of a large amount of methamphetamine during a traffic stop today.
Deputies were reportedly patrolling Highway 107 early this morning when a car was observed swerving in and out of its lane. Deputies followed the vehicle onto Little Cassi Creek Road and initiated a traffic stop. When deputies approached the vehicle, they observed a blue tray containing drug paraphernalia sitting in the front seat and a container with a crystal-like substance inside. The driver, 41-year-old Bryan Humphreys, identified it as methamphetamine. Humphreys consented a search of the vehicle. He also reportedly admitted to swerving because he was attempting to hide the drugs.
During a pat down search, a container with meth inside was found in Humphreys’ pocket. Total weight of the methamphetamine seized during the traffic stop was 29 grams.
Humpheys was transported to the Washington County Detention Center for possession of methamphetmine and possession of drug paraphernalia, along with several traffic violations.
