Scams continue to plague our community.
The victim filed a report Saturday stating that she was on Facebook when a pop-up came up directing her to a “Microsoft” phone number. After calling the number, she was directed to withdraw $39,000 from her bank, then take the money to a Bitcoin transfer center located on the Asheville Highway.
The victim was advised to call her bank about the incident as well, and to change her banking information.
