The Greeneville Police Department has identified the child rape suspect who reportedly committed suicide this week.
36-year-old Juan De Dios Leyea-Marcial of 15 Bradley Aveue in Greeneville reportedly killed himself as officers were attempting to serve an arrest warrant charging him with Rape of a Child.
A press release from the police department said the suspect shot and killed himself as officers entered his residence Tuesday night just before midnight. No one else was injured during the incident.
The suspect’s body was taken to the William L. Jenkins Forensic Center in Johnson City for an autopsy.
The Greeneville Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division is investigating with the assistance of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. No further details have been released.
