A Johnson City man was arrested Saturday after he was walking in traffic on the Asheville Highway.

The report stated that dispatch had received multiple calls of a male walking in and out of traffic near the 600 block of the Asheville Highway around 7:30 Saturday morning, and using obscene gestures when the cars passed him.

Officers spoke with the man who was shirtless in 20 degree conditions, and was later identified as Christopher Watson of Longview Drive, in Johnson City. According to the report, Watson admitted he was high to officers. For his own safety, Watson was taken into custody for public intoxication.
