A High Wind Warning is in effect for Southeast Greene County until 7:00 AM Saturday.
According to the National Weather Service, winds of 25 to 40 mph are expected, with gusts up to 80 mph possible. The rest of the county will experience winds around 15 mph, with gusts up to 30 mph.
Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
In addition to high winds, heavy rain is also in the forecast. Rainfall totals for Greene County are expected to range from 2-4 inches through Sunday. The heaviest rain is expected between midnight Saturday through noon on Sunday. There is also the potential during that time of isolated severe storms. There may also be a second round of gusty mountain winds.
