A Midway man was arrested Sunday afternoon with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after it was reported a man was in his driveway with firearms.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Office responded to the residence on Culver Drive and found the man, Eric P. Chase, sitting in a chair with a shotgun, rifle, and pistol, all of which were confirmed to be loaded. According to the report, down the road there were children playing.
Deputies explained to Chase that due to safety, they would need to move the firearms away from him. When a deputy grabbed the shotgun, Chase allegedly kicked a table in attempt to move the weapons away and yelled to not touch his guns.
He was reportedly becoming belligerent, was screaming, and would not comply when deputies tried to detain him. A Taser was taken out, at the time the suspect began cooperating. He was detained, placed into handcuffs and charged. The weapons were left with a family member.
