The tractor trailer fire closed I-81 in Greene County overnight.
The Mosheim and Town of Mosheim Volunteer Fire Departments were called at midnight to the report of the rear wheels of a trailer on fire near the 24 mile marker southbound. The trailer was fully involved when volunteers arrived on the scene. Fire fighters were able to extinguish the fire and keep it from spreading to the grassy areas on the side of the road.
One lane was able to resume flow around 1:30 AM, and cleanup continued this morning.
