A suspect charged last year in connection with the death of 20 year-old Caitlin Crum is set to have a Plea Hearing this morning at 9 AM with Judge John F. Dugger Jr in Greene County Circuit Court.
After an investigation by detectives with the Greeneville Police Department and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, Preston Ronez Moore was indicted by Greene County Grand Jury in March 2023. He was charged with Abuse of a Corpse, Tampering with Evidence, and Failure to Report a Death.
On November 7, 2021, the Greeneville Police Department responded to an abandoned home in the 200 block of West Barton Ridge Road. Upon arrival, Caitlin Crum was found deceased inside. Crum’s cause of death was determined to be an overdose caused by Fentanyl and Methamphetamine intoxication.
During the investigation, authorities identified Moore as being with the victim at the time of her death. Further investigation revealed that Moore failed to report her death and left her body in the vacant home.
