A Johnson City woman was arrested on Sunday morning for driving under the influence after she was found asleep in a vehicle in the middle of the road.
Deputies arrived at the intersection of Kenneytown Road and Horton Highway around 8 AM and found the female Hailey Jackson in the driver’s seat, who appeared to be sleeping with her seatbelt still on. Jackson said she was taking friends home, had car troubles, and was in the road since 1 AM.
According to the report, multiple empty beer cans were found in the passenger seat and back seat, along with a bottle of alcohol. Jackson was asked to perform standard field sobriety tests and reportedly performed poorly. She admitted to drinking and stated she was the most sober out of the group she was with. Jackson added that’s why she was driving and only stopped in the road due to being tired.
Jackson was placed under arrest and transported to Greene County Detention Center. A breathalyzer test was conducted, resulting in .173.
