Another Greeneville man was arrested early this morning on charges of Aggravated Assault. Police responded to the parking lot of a Pharmacy in the 1000 block of Tusculum Boulevard just after midnight, for a vehicle accident with injuries.
The driver of a 2021 Jeep told police in the report, that Josiel Tomas of Doak Drive knew another person had been driving the Jeep earlier in the day. The victim alleged Tomas swerved toward her Jeep on Tusculum Boulevard and struck it on purpose. The victim suffered bruising and lacerations from the incident.
According to the report, Tomas said he was arguing with the other person on his phone while driving, attempted to turn around, and accidentally struck the victim’s Jeep.
Officers maintain Tomas had a strong odor of alcohol coming from his person, though he performed well on field sobriety tests. Tomas was placed under arrest for Aggravated Assault and failure of the financial responsibility law. He was taken to the Detention Center, and reportedly agreed to Breathalyzer testing. The results of which showed his Blood Alcohol Content at.021, which is over the legal limit.
