A Mosheim man wanted following a domestic incident is facing further charges after allegedly fleeing from police and attempting to conceal drugs into the Greene County Detention Center.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Department responded around 10:45 AM Tuesday to a residence on McMillian Road. Jason Rogers had two domestic assault warrants taken out the previous day following an incident and had come back to the residence that morning.
Deputies began searching the immediate area and saw Rogers walking toward the tree line. He was told to stop, but reportedly took off running. A brief foot pursuit ensued. A deputy made contact with Rogers and they went to the ground. Rogers was told multiple times to stop resisting and refused. He was then placed into custody and discovered to have needles in his possession.
While at the Greene County Detention Center, a corrections officer said Rogers was discovered to have a baggie containing around two grams of methamphetamine concealed in his body. In addition to the domestic warrants, Rogers was charged with the manufacture, delivery, sale or possession of meth, evading arrest, resisting stop, frisk, halt, arrest or search, introduction of contraband into a correctional facility, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
