A wanted sex offender from Nashville was arrested in Greeneville Friday afternoon.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Department received a tip about 1 PM on Friday that the suspect, 74 year-old Johhny Wayne Jones, was hiding in the woods. Deputies located Jones in a tent in the woods near Stone Dam Road. He is reportedly a sexual offender, a wanted person, and in violation of the sex offender registry.
He was arrested for the warrants and transported to the Greene County Detention Center.
