A warrant was taken out for a man Thursday afternoon after he evaded deputies and the Taser deployed was unsuccessful.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Department responded to Lamons Road and made contact with the suspect Scottie Lawson, who had an active warrant for Violation of Probation. Once Lawson was informed by deputies of the warrant he allegedly fled and ran off on foot. A pursuit began and Lawson reportedly ran to an adjacent property before jumping a creek and fleeing into the wood line.
The foot pursuit continued and according to the report, Lawson jumped over a fence causing the deputy to deploy his Taser. The Taser was reportedly unsuccessful and had no effect on Lawson, as only one prong seemed to have made contact. A warrant was taken out for Lawson for evading arrest.
