Simple assault was reported on the 600 block of West Andrew Johnson Highway Monday afternoon.
Officers spoke with two individuals who stated they pulled into the parking lot of Stowaway Self Storage in Greeneville. Once they pulled in a man jumped out his vehicle and came running toward them. According to the report, the suspect came around the passenger side of the vehicle and was trying to fight with the passenger, attempting to break out the window in the process.
The suspect also tried to get into the car through the backseats where there were two children present. After attempting to get into the car multiple times the suspect allegedly tried breaking the window again. At that time the driver drove away. The man fled the scene in a silver Honda Pilot, prior to the arrival of the Greeneville Police Department.
Private procedures were advised. The alleged suspect was named in the report.
