Officers responded to vehicle theft in progress Sunday night on the Erwin Highway.
According to the report, a 2015 gray Chevrolet Sonic was stolen from a man after he picked up a woman to give her a ride. The man stated she was walking down the road in Tusculum but was not able to provide a name.
He says he stopped at the store because she asked him get her a candy bar. The victim went inside the store and at that time the suspect got into the driver’s seat and took off with the vehicle. The suspect was wearing a tank top and shorts and has blonde hair.
The report says there was also a suspicious female the night before with the same description at that same store. A picture was shown to the victim of the suspect and he believes it is the same woman. Deputies checked a location where the suspect could be but did not find her or the vehicle.
No arrests could be made at the time of the report.
