Officers were kept busy over the weekend with several arrests for drunkenness and drug possession.
Police conducted a traffic stop around 4PM Saturday, at South Main and South Lake Streets, of a Dodge S.U.V. with no brake light. The driver was identified as Christopher Brotherton of Crescent Drive. A consented search located a baggie containing about 2 grams of what was believed to be meth in his pocket, and a used meth pipe in the S.U.V. Brotherton was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and unlawful drug paraphernalia.

Around 8PM Saturday officers stopped a Honda S.U.V. driven by Bobby G. Fillers of Elk Street. A record check reportedly showed Fillers to have a status of revoked habitual offender on his drivers license. According to the report, Fillers gave police consent to search, and two pill bottles containing various narcotics, depressants, and stimulants were found in the vehicle.
He was transported to the Greene County Jail, charged with Simple Possession of illegal drugs and driving while license is revoked.

Police were dispatched to the call of an employee at the 800 block of Tusculum Boulevard. Officers spoke with Rikki Morris of Morrow Lane, who reportedly had an aroma of alcoholic beverage, and her speech was slurred. A search of her purse found 5 Clonazepam pills in a wrapper, and several small vodka bottles. Due to officers believing Morris could be a danger to herself and the public, she was placed under arrest for Simple Possession of an illegal drug, and Public Intoxication.

Officers responded to a report of drunkenness near Apple Street around 11:00 PM Saturday, and a man knocking on doors. Officers contacted the man, Danny McLain of Rolling Hills Road, sitting on the porch. According to the report, McLain had very slurred speech and was unsteady coming down the steps. He allegedly told officers he did not know how he had arrived at the address. For his own safety, McLain was taken to the Greene County Detention Center on a charge of Public Intoxication.
