The District Championship will be an all-Greene County affair on Monday night after both the South Greene Lady Rebels and the Chuckey-Doak Lady Knights took home victories on Thursday night from David Crockett High School.
In the first semifinal game, South Greene’s defense would be too tough of a task for West Greene to handle as the Lady Rebels would defeat the Lady Buffs 63-27. Kortnei Bailey would lead South Greene off the bench with 18 points while Jordyn Roderick added 10 and the Lady Rebels would be led defensively by Madison Hensley, Hailey Brooks, and Haley Susong.
In the second District Semifinal, Chuckey-Doak would use their deep rotation to their advantage as they would knock off Happy Valley 45-31. Saniah Atchison would lead the Lady Knights in scoring with 13 points as the Lady Knights would feature eleven players with two or more minutes in the tournament game.
With the semifinal results, the schedule Monday will feature West Greene playing Happy Valley in the third-place game at 6:00 p.m. and South Greene playing county-foe Chuckey-Doak for the District Championship at 7:30 p.m. from David Crockett High School with radio coverage on 103.1 FM WIKQ.
