Greeneville Police made several Driving Under the Influence stops Friday night.
A Chevrolet SUV driven by Justin Wills of Pruitt Road, ran a stop sign at Lake Street around 8:00 PM. Officers reported smelling alcohol coming from Wills while they were speaking to him. Wills performed poorly on standardized field sobriety tests, and was placed under arrest for DUI and Failing to Stop at a Stop Sign.
Around 10:30, officers followed a vehicle which crossed over the white line multiple times on East Andrew Johnson Highway. Police stopped the car near Lafayette Street and identified the driver as James B. Blue of Sunset Street. Officers reported smelling alcohol from Blue, who also had slurred speech.
Blue performed poorly on field sobriety tests. A pill bottle was also located in the cup holder of the car, with two pills suspected of being hydrocodone and suboxone.
Blue was placed under arrest and charged with Driving Under the Influence, driving on a Suspended License, and Possession of Schedule 2 and schedule 3 Drugs. Bond was set at $4000.
