Two people were injured and one had to be extricated from their vehicle and flown by Highlands Air Rescue to an area hospital for injuries sustained in a motor vehicle crash just before 5 pm Sunday on Highway 11E near Rheatown Road.
The injured were 52 year old Deborah Taylor and her passenger 49 year old Michael Kilgore. The Taylor vehicle was struck by a truck operated by 46 year old Murillo Miguel Zavala. Zavala and his passenger 22 year old Pedro Zavala were not injured, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol report.
The Greeneville Emergency and Rescue Squad, Greene County EMS, Greene County Sheriff’s Department also responded along with the Limestone Volunteer Fire Department.
Limestone volunteer firefighters were also called around that same time to an accident in Washington County near McQueen Road and Gravel Hill Road involving a motorcycle. The operator of the motorcycle told the Washington County Sheriff’s Department he was unaware McQueen was a dead end road and tried to turn too fast and ended up putting the motorcycle on its side. A passenger on the motorcycle was transported to the hospital by a friend. The motorcycle was not damaged and the owner drove it from the scene.
