A Seymour man was charged with kidnapping and aggravated assault after allegedly holding a woman against her will at a residence in the South Central area.
According to a press release from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were informed that a patient at the Blount County Memorial Hospital reported 26-year-old Johnny Ray McNabb Jr. held her against her will for more than 30 days in a camper on Kenneth Foster Road. According to witness statements, McNabb fell asleep and the victim was able to escape the trailer with assistance from another individual. The victim fled to Knoxville, where she sought treatment for multiple injuries. Documentation from the hospital also detailed a recent concussion.
In her statement, the victim said McNabb forced her to use drugs. She also said he hit and threatened her. She told investigators she attempted to escape multiple times, but McNabb refused to let her go anywhere without him. He also took her cell phone away from her, preventing her from calling for help.
At the time the report was made, McNabb was already in the Washington County Detention Center on various warrants, including failure to appear in a felony case. With the new charges, his bond amount increased to $27,500. McNabb was due in court today regarding the new charges.
