William Glen Petway

William Glen Petway passed away August 22, 2026, at 1:00 PM in his Chuckey home with his wife, Brenda. He was born August 11, 1952, in Paducah, Kentucky. He lived in Woodstock, Illinois, moved to Quartzsite, Arizona, and came to Chuckey, Tennessee, for his final years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Petway and Eulalah (Myer) Petway, and his sister, Edith (Petway) (Turner) Traughber.

William is survived by his wife of 56 years, Brenda Kay (Turner) Petway; his two daughters, Euella (John) Ringler and Patsy (Larry) Sova; three grandchildren, Brittany (James) Scohy, Jacob Ringler, and Porsche Gresham; and two great-grandchildren, Nora Rose Gresham and David Richard Glen Gresham.

He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and other family members.

He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He is loved by many and will be forever missed.

He will be remembered for telling jokes, teaching his girls survival skills, being supportive, and working hard to support his family.

There will be no service. His final request was to be cremated. If you would like to send flowers, cards (please include a special memory or a photo), or money, please send them to Brenda Petway in care of Jeffers Funeral & Cremation Service, 208 N. College St., Greeneville, TN 37745.

A special thanks to all from Amedisys Hospice who helped our father and our family. You all are the best.
