Speed Humps will be installed in a section of Old Tusculum Road Thursday.
The Town of Greeneville announced today that Old Tusculum Road from Oak Grove Road to the Erwin Highway will be temporarily closed to thru traffic Thursday, April 16 from 9:00 am until around 3:00 pm for installation of speed humps in that area by Greeneville Public Works.
Greeneville Police say accommodations will be made for local traffic (if you live or work within the closed area). However, no thru traffic will be allowed during the closure.
The curvy roadway, especially in that area, allows very little room for error for motorists, and has been the site of several accidents, including a fatal accident involving Tusculum University students last year.
