A Flood Warning remains in effect for communities along the Nolichucky River until early Sunday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
The crest of 23.5 feet on the Nolichucky was expected to be reached just after midnight this morning. The river is not expected to drop below the flood stage of 12 feet until late tonight.
The Flood Warning also impacts the Pigeon River and French Broad River at Newport, along with the Douglas Dam Reservoir.
