According to the National Weather Service, gusty winds will preceed a significant drop in temperatures this week.
Strong and gusty southwesterly winds are expected this evening through Monday. Winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 mph are expected for lower elevations starting this afternoon, with gusts to 50 mph for the mountains tonight.
Much colder temperatures are expected for Monday and Tuesday, with wind chills dropping to near zero across the higher elevations Monday night, and into the teens elsewhere.
Overnight lows are expected to drop into the twenties or upper teens by Monday night, with highs in the low to mid-thirties Monday and Tuesday, before leveling off to the mid-forties for the rest of the week.
