The first edition of Wings and Machines was held at the Greeneville Municipal Airport on Saturday.
The event featured aircraft from the U.S. Navy and Army as well as small private aircraft. Machines such as cranes, firetrucks, tractors and dump trucks were also a part of the event.
Formerly known as Wings and Wheels, the event this year showcased planes and unique machinery instead of a car show.
A massive Boeing P-8 Poseidon nearly 130 feet in length was on display at the event from the U.S. Navy and Naval personnel chatted with those attending the event about the aircraft.
The U.S. Army landed a Boeing CH-47 Chinook helicopter at the event, and a Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter. Those attending the event were welcomed to climb into and tour the two military helicopters.
A North American Aviation T-28 Trojan from the 1950s could also be found at the event.
Hundreds of people flocked to the Greeneville Airport for the event that is the result of a partnership between the Greene County Partnership and Greeneville Municipal Airport.
Greene County Partnership President and CEO Jeff Taylor said that the event drew hundreds of smiling faces of all ages, and highlighted the importance of the airport and aviation in Greeneville and Greene County.
