Mary Martha “Marty” Miles, 86, of Greeneville, passed away Sunday, Sept. 20, 2026, surrounded by her family.
She retired from Magnavox and was a member of Trinity UM Church, being a proud member of the Crusaders Sunday School Class. She was an active member of the Greeneville YMCA, where she played basketball, and also a participant in the Senior Olympics, creating lasting friendships.
Marty lived her life with a deep devotion to God, her family and her friends. Known for her independent spirit, positive attitude and wonderful sense of humor, she was truly a friend to everyone who knew her. Marty will be deeply missed by all.
She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Dave and Blair Miles and Ron and Cindy Miles; grandchildren Alexandra and Austin Towler, Elizabeth Miles, Meredith Miles, Tyler Miles, Dylan Miles and Ryan Miles; two sisters, Jewel Burger and Judy Bible; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. “Johnny” Miles; parents, William David and Nova Tranbarger; great-aunt who raised her, Beulah Williams; and three brothers, Russell, Carroll and Ronald Eugene Tranbarger.
The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, 2026, at Jeffers Funeral and Cremation Service Downtown. The funeral service will be Friday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Stuart Albee officiating. The burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandchildren and family.
