Highlights from the Greene County Commission meeting tonight at the Greene County Administration Center.
COUNTY CONSTABLES
By a vote of 15 to 6 on the first of two readings, the commission voted to abolish County Constable positions. The second reading, which also requires a 2/3rds vote for approval, will be held at the November meeting.
HEALTH CARE MONOPOLIES
A resolution from Joshua Arrowood urging the state to repeal laws eliminating healthcare monopolies failed by a vote of 5 in favor, 15 against and 1 abstaining.
HARDSHIP EASEMENT REQUEST
A committee will be appointed by the mayor to further discuss assisting property owners Frank and Nancy Gioeni over an illegal property subdivision from a previous owner which is now preventing them from obtaining a building permit. The man and wife addressed the commission during the public hearing portion of the meeting.
