A pistol that was stolen from a truck at Kinser Park was recovered Thursday night.
A Midway man told the Greene County Sheriff’s Department that he was notified by a neighbor that a blue van came into the campground and dropped off eight teenagers from Freewill Baptist Ministries. The teens were reportedly wandering through the campground, and the man said that a Smith & Wesson pistol went missing from his truck.
Deputies were permitted to investigate by the home staff and learned that one of the teens had the firearm, which was found inside his pillow. Juvenile charges are pending against the teen which include theft from a motor vehicle and unlawful possession of a weapon.
