A small plane crash landed at Tri-Cities Airport Saturday morning, but no one was injured.
The incident involving a Beechcraft Bonanza Model V35 occurred when the landing gear of the plane collapsed during a touch‑and‑go on Runway 23. TRI emergency personnel responded immediately. The pilot, the sole occupant, exited the aircraft unassisted before crews arrived and was evaluated by EMS on site.
TRI emergency responders and maintenance crews worked quickly and efficiently to safely secure the scene, remove the aircraft, and return the runway to service with minimal disruption. Runway 23 was closed for about two hours following the 11:30 am accident. Commercial flights were minimally impacted, with a Delta Air Lines flight delayed by 1 hour and 41 minutes.
